SAAC Privacy Policy

The Sacramento Area Animal Coalition (SAAC) is committed to your right to privacy and to keeping your personal information private and secure. You can visit SAAC’s website without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifying information. Our website does include areas where visitors are asked to provide personal identifying information voluntarily. Therefore we have developed this privacy policy to inform you of our policies and practices regarding information we collect when you visit us online at

Information you provide voluntarily

SAAC collects and maintains certain personal information when you complete any of our online forms. These activities include completing an application for one of our spay/neuter programs, making a donation, or subscribing to our online news alerts. Such information may include your name, mailing address, email address, and any other information collected in the forms. You may be asked to provide credit card information to make a donation or personal income information to apply for a program.

Non-personal identification information

Our website also collects other information that cannot identify you personally. This includes your IP address, domain name, browser name, type of computer, and other similar information. We use this aggregated information to measure the number of visits to our site, the average time spent on our site, the number of pages viewed, and various other site statistics. This information helps us improve the quality of our site for clients, donors, and other visitors.

How we use collected information

SAAC may collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To process donations: We use the information you provide when making a donation only to provide service to that donation. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to process the donation.
  • To process requests for spay/neuter assistance: We must collect specific personal information to process requests for programs: Spay Day, Voucher Program, and Feral Cat Assistance Program. This information may include name, address, phone number, email address, pet information, and household income information. We use this information only to determine eligibility for our programs, to distribute materials related to the use of our programs, and to contact applicants to schedule spay/neuter appointments (Spay Day only).

If you decide to opt-in to our news alerts, you will receive emails that may include organization news, program updates, or invitations to volunteer or participate in an event. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
