Making a Spay Day Appointment

On the last Sunday in February, nearly 1,000 pets belonging to families in need in Sacramento, Yolo and Placer Counties receive low-cost spay/neuter surgery on Spay Day Sacramento.

How do I request an appointment?

Who is eligible for Spay Day?

Households in Sacramento, Yolo and Placer Counties earning $35,000 a year or less.

How much does Spay Day cost?

$15 per cat
and $20 per dog. Limit two pets per household.

What does each animal receive on Spay Day?

  • Spay or neuter surgery
  • Core vaccinations
  • Microchip identification
  • Dose of flea preventative

Where does Spay Day take place?

At approximately 20 veterinary clinics and animal shelters in Sacramento, Placer and Yolo Counties. When you make an appointment, you will be assigned a time and a location.
