 Spay/Neuter Information: SAAC Voucher Application

 

 

 

 SAAC VOUCHERS AVAILABLE FOR SPAY AND NEUTER

SAAC is currently issuing low-cost vouchers for spay/neuter to eligible pet owners in the  following areas:

* Sacramento City (thanks to funding from City of Sacramento Animal Care Services)
* West Sacramento
* Sacramento County (thanks to funding from Teaching Everyone Animals Matter)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Vouchers are only available for female cats and large dogs (45 pounds or more, pits and pit mixes included).

They are funded by grants and donations and are distributed as funds are available.

$10 co-pay for cats (female cats only)
$15 for co-pay for dogs (large dogs only, 45 pounds
or more, pit bulls and pit bull mixes also included)

NOTE: NO SMALL DOG VOUCHERS AVAILABLE. Go to www.sacanimal.org/spayneuter.html for other low-cost options for small dogs.

Guidelines:

  • Household income must be $35,000 per year or less

  • Limit 4 vouchers per family

  • Animals must be between 3 months and 7 years of age

  • No feral cats (go to www.sacanimal.org/ferals.html for help with spaying and neutering feral cats).

  • Vouchers are only available for female cats and large dogs (45 pounds or more).
  • Pregnant cats can be spayed. The veterinarian will determine if it is safe for the animal's health.

How the voucher program works:

  • Submit the online voucher request form below. Remember to fill in all the information for each animal you are requesting vouchers for. Your application can not be approved without complete information on each animal.

  • Also submit proof of low-income status (household income of $35,000 per year or less) via mail or fax. Proof of income can include a pay stub, most recent tax statement, social security statement, Medi-cal card or other proof of public assistance. Proof of income can be faxed to (530) 759-8116 or mail to SAAC, PO Box 161043, Sacramento, CA 95816.

  • Vouchers are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis after proof of income is received depending upon availability of funds.

  • Vouchers are good for 30 days.

  • You will receive a list of participating veterinarians where you can redeem the voucher.

  • Your co-payment is $10 for each cat and $15 for each dog.
